About Us

It truly takes a village to raise a child, but many parents today don’t have a village to lean on. Modern life and technology isolate us more and more, and new parents especially feel alone. Parenthood brings with it many questions, whether you are having your first or fifth baby! Birth options, infant feeding choices, postpartum recovery, potty training - the list goes on!

At It Takes a Village, we can help you find answers to questions like, “What IS normal? What are ALL my options?” We have one-on-one meetings, online resources, and a network of knowledgeable providers. Whatever your questions, we can help.

It Takes a Village is a nonproﬁt organization dedicated to bringing prenatal and postpartum education and support to women and families in Southeast Missouri and surrounding areas. We are passionate about improving access to accurate information and support on breastfeeding, increasing access to doulas, and fostering a better understanding of physiologically normal birth and the natural development of children from infancy to adolescence.
